Using Communications to Know God and to Make Him Known

YWAMComs.net is a place for people involved in Communications to get together, share ideas and come up with ways that Communications and Research can be used to serve Youth With A Mission (YWAM) International in it's goal "To Know God and to Make Him Known".

Through improving our communication, we hope to improve the way in which Youth With A Mission (YWAM) can positively affect the people of the world. Communication tools and techniques are not the end in themselves, but using these can greatly assist us to be more effective in fulfilling The Great Commission.

YWAMComs.net has a sister website YWAM IT which is specifically focused on Information Technology issues.

CRIT & BCW 2008

Till we have a permanent site for CRIT in general, a new site for CRIT 2008 has been created at crit.ywamcoms.net

CRIT 2008 will be bi-lingual and held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from April 13 to 19. Preceding CRIT 2008 will be a week-long Basic Communication Workshop (BCW) from 6 to 12 April. Click here for information on the 2008 CRIT & BCW.

Father, Friend and Leader gone

Please read the official statement of YWAM Latvia of the loss of our national director, Maris Dzelzs. Your prayers are highly desired.

Thank you,

Value Communication campaign launches!

Value Communication is a new campaign to elevate communication as an essential value in YWAM. It was conceived at the CRIT meetings in Lonavala, formerly called the DNA track.

There are 3 very short videos which were produced to highlight our mission's need to deliberately practice communication both individually and corporately. Please take less than 5 minutes to check out the videos:

http://www.youtube.com/vccampaign

The videos will be available for download in a few days from ywampodcast.org/valuecommunication

Feel free to encourage effective communication with your YWAM colleagues. Encourage them to use these videos personally, with their DTS and UofN students, as well as their ministry colleagues and staff.

Solution for Spam

I have added a Catcha module - so you will have to do a sum when you post a comment - this should stop machine spam. If it starts again I will upgrade it so that it is harder!
Thanks

SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM

I regularly have SPAM comments attached to my posts (you know... a list of 100 links to sites offering Viagra and Cialis for "cheap bucks mister")

Is there a way to block this bot/user from spamming my posts?

I understand that you have to log in to comment... so how is this happening? and/or can we block that particular user?

CRIT & BCS 07 Report

CRIT '07 Report

CRIT 2007 took place in the lovely hill station of Lonavala, Maharashtra, about two hours from Mumbai, with 42 participants in attendance. CRITters this year came from YWAM centers throughout India, Indonesia, Korea, Nepal, Taiwan, South Africa, Europe & US to network, strategize and launch new communications projects within YWAM. Participants had opportunities to explore nearby caves, ride camels, enjoy exquisite Indian cuisine at the Avion Holiday Resort, and still squeeze in a very full CRIT from 7-12 May 2007. Many CRITers stayed on to help facilitate the first ever Basic Communications Seminar (BCS) the week after CRIT 07 at the U of N Lonavala campus.

IT Infrastructure Ideas

I found the following web site containng Wiki Design Principles. I think it has good ideas that relate to YWAM web design needs.
